France Goes Pop!

Screening of Pierre Koralnik’s ANNA (1967)
DJ set by Décadanse Soirée

Anna is a bizarre French musical-comedy film directed by Pierre Koralnik and starring Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy, Marianne Faithfull and Serge Gainsbourg (who also wrote the soundtrack). Released in 1967, it was the first color film made for French TV, and it took full advantage, filling in its hallucinatory scenes and peak-Mod sensibility with the most vibrant colors possible. A truly festive, charming movie served up for every fan of Gainsbourg and Anna Karina! And along with Anna, we’ll be treated to a Videotheque mix by EXP TV, a non-stop collection of French femme pop and yé-yé songs with pop art and green screen surrealism visuals featuring Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, France Gall, and many more.

We’ll close out this night— this, the 4th year anniversary of La Collectionneuse!— with a DJ set by Décandanse Soirée.
